Preparing Your Home for Old Man Winter...

Old Man Winter is making his presence known.  Be sure your home is secure and ready for his arrival!  Clean all gutters to make sure water will flow through them easily.  Make sure all of your exterior spigots are turned off and the garden hose is disconnected.  Check the windows for any air leaks and seal them to be sure your heating unit is more efficient.  Have your chimney cleaned and inspected for any problems.  Stock up on Salt or other ice removing materials to be prepared for the winter weather.  Trim the trees around your house and be sure to have your heater inspected.  Replace any damaged or missing roof shingles and check around your house for areas that could puddle after a snow or ice melt.  Install your storm windows and doors if you have them.  This checklist will enable you to have a less stressful winter season.
